The Liberating Power of Rest!
The Liberating Power of Rest!
Our rituals help us connect our body, breath, mind and spirit so that we can access our inner wisdom and natural gifts to be better humans. In Yoga, which means 'union' or 'to connect' in Sanskrit, we also appreciate our interrelation with our inner world and the outer world, the way we communicate with each other and the way we nurture the land that we dwell on and share with all living beings..
Sharing restorative practices that are rooted in and inspired by matriarchal lineages, with a focus on liberating the energies by awakening gentle movement breath and conscious attention through every joints in the body before accessing the liberating power of rest with Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra is often translated as 'Yogic Sleep', but more accurately, it is 'a state of being'. It is the most universal, effective, healing and transformative ritual that I have experienced. Paradoxically it is also the most accessible and the less demanding practice, all you need to do is get comfy and close your eyes!
During Nidra we practice self-study, sense withdrawal, concentration and meditation (even when we travel in and out of conscious state and all the places in between!).
It is Adaptogenic: an herbalist term, which means that it has multiple therapeutic properties and its medicine adapt itself to our individual needs at that given moment. Side effects include, deep relaxation, problem solving, increased spiritual and personal growth, developing creativity and intuitive wisdom.
Yoga Nidra opens the gates to infinite possibilities. Its effects benefit us on all levels of our being as well as all those around us, making it a mighty tool for planetary healing and justice.

Are you looking for a way to improve the wellbeing and productivity of your employees? Let me introduce you to yoga nidra, a powerful technique that can reduce stress, increase creativity and energise your team.
I offer yoga nidra workshops that are tailored to your organisation's needs and goals. You and your staff will learn how to use yoga nidra in your daily lives, and experience its benefits first-hand.
I recommend 4 sessions of 1.5 hour each, spread over 4 to 6 weeks. Each session includes feedback and guidance on how to integrate the practice into your routine. I'm looking forward to collaborating with your HR team, and providing evidence of the positive impact of yoga nidra for everyone.
Clear your space by lighting your favourite candle/incense/oil or playing your favourite tune, creating the ambience that settle you best.
Prepare your resting nest with a nicely padded underneath, pillows, blocks, bolsters or whatever support your body needs. For example, if you feel tension in your lower back whilst lying with your legs straight, you could place something under the back of your knees to release the tension.
Feel free to rest in whichever position feels most snug and comfy (on your side/in your bed/legs up the wall/seated…). Whatever works for you to feel effortlessly supported during your travel through the sacred landscape of your body. It may not be the same position every time, just listen to what your body is telling you in this moment and where it tells you to add an extra pillow. For example, if you are in your menstruating cycle, or pregnant, you may find lying on your side with pillows to support your upper thigh more appropriate.
Your perfect nest is one that allows you to get to that most delightful position where you can just let go and rest. It can very well be your bed or sofa.
Have a blanket to keep you cosy and warm as your body temperature will lower as you deeply relax, even in the middle of summer.
Make sure to turn your phone off and that you won't be disturbed. Pets and babies are welcome, in fact they love yoga nidra.
